Description
This is an Illinois CHATHAM model wristwatch released in 1934. This is only the third CHATHAM that I have ever seen in a white case. This was one of the last advertised Illinois watches in 1934. However, as you can read in my book set already in December 1933, Illinois could not fulfill orders for this watch. As a result, they are very rare, especially in white.
This watch has a very good unpolished WGF case with light corner bezel wear and an unusual original dial that has an extraordinary even and heavy brown patina, that looks nice in the case and against the brown watch strap.
Its 6/0 size, 15j movement is running fine and is guaranteed for one year plus ten days.
